PCWP secure more pool time with The Mountbatten Centre to expand the junior squad

As of Thursday 29th September 2011, the training session for junior members will run from 7:30pm until 8:30pm under the coaching and supervision of Trevor Jones (Coach). The decision was made during the last committee meeting to apply for more pool time due to an increasing interest from local junior players.

Over the past couple of weeks Tony Taylor (Club Secretary) has been in talks with the Mountbatten Centre about pool time, operations and cost. Tony summarises:

"The Mountbatten Centre has been great and since we highlighted our interest in expanding our junior squad, they were immediately on side with what we wanted to achieve. Fortunately, luck was on our side.. Portsmouth University Swimming Club decided to cancel their Thursday night booking and Portsmouth Northsea Swimming Club decided to modify their booking to finish at 7:30pm (to allow us to book all 8 lanes in the 25 metre pool)."

The deal was made last night over the phone and the price for senior and junior members will not change. However, The Mountbatten Centre highlighted that all bookings will undergo a price review in January 2012. Tony commented:

"MBC really gave us a good deal and agreed to freeze our price until the end of the year. Depending on how many new junior members we can recruit and retain from now until Christmas will obviously influence the Committee's decision to increase membership fees."
